Rachel Carson

All the discussions about Climate Change, the Green Initiative started many years ago with the research of Rachel Carson. Mankind will always be indebted to her for her efforts in bringing awareness to climate change.
Carson spread awareness to the world about the harm which is caused by synthetic pesticides which led to a nationwide ban on DDT and other pesticides. Opposition to DDT was focused by the 1962 publication of Rachel Carson’s book, Silent Spring.
She brought to the fore the impacts of Climate Change. It had caused the contamination of the food chain, genetic damage, the deaths of entire species; and all of this was too frightening to ignore.
She shared her research about the collapsing bird and animal population because of the contamination of the food chain, due to use of synthetic pesticides.
I feel Rachel Carson made a significant change in the way we think about climate change and synthetic pesticides. Did we know how much harm climate change causes? No. Did we know how much harm synthetic pesticides cause? No.
Because she communicated about her significant research, we know what we have to do and what our role is to preserve this world and make this a better place for future generations to come but hardly anyone cares about the topic.
I strongly believe that someone or somebody should follow in Rachel’s footsteps and complete what Rachel started using his/her own creativity for future generations to come and to make this world a better place.
